Zona Verde was formed to provide affordable green homes to underserved communities. The company seeks to provide homes to the Native American Communities, Inner City Communities, Homeless Communities, and Small Cities (less than 10,000 population) that need affordable housing.

In July 2021, the company began working with architects, structural engineers, and other housing consultants to develop a home that is both affordable and durable. The company visited several HUD housing projects and reviewed other affordable home developments, determining that it could develop a better affordable home than was currently available.

The company designed a home built with engineered insulated panels (EIP). Our EIPs are unique in that they contain galvanized steel exteriors and have been structurally reinforced to allow each EIP to become a load-bearing component of the home structure, which makes our homes strong enough to not only meet code requirements but, in many jurisdictions, exceed them. The company had a structural engineering report done to ensure compliance with State and Federal building requirements.
